Primary role :
French Interpreter (remote)
About The Opportunity
We are hiring experienced French language interpreters to deliver accurate, culturally appropriate live interpretation for virtual meetings, conferences, trainings, and client calls. This remote role requires professional-level French↔English mediation, strong familiarity with online conferencing platforms, and the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate client time zones.
Role & Responsibilities
Provide high-quality consecutive, simultaneous, and whispered (chuchotage) interpretation for remote meetings, webinars, and virtual events.
Prepare session-specific glossaries, briefs, and terminology lists to ensure consistency and domain accuracy.
Operate and troubleshoot remote interpreting platforms and conferencing tools to ensure seamless audio/video delivery.
Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify expectations, timelines, and post-session deliverables (summaries, transcripts where required).
Maintain confidentiality, adhere to data protection requirements, and apply professional ethics during sensitive assignments.
Participate in quality reviews and continuous improvement activities, including feedback incorporation and peer calibration.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
Native or near-native fluency in French and professional-level fluency in English (oral and written).
Proven experience in remote interpretation (consecutive and simultaneous) for corporate, legal, medical, or conference settings.
Proficiency with remote interpreting platforms and conferencing tools (Zoom, Teams, Interprefy, etc.).
Familiarity with CAT tools, translation memory systems, and terminology management workflows.
Reliable high-speed internet connection, professional-grade headset, and quiet home studio setup.
Strong cultural mediation skills and ability to accurately convey register, tone, and idiomatic meaning.
Preferred
Professional interpreting certification or accreditation (e.g., recognized national/international interpreter credentials).
Experience in specialized domains (legal, medical, finance, or technology).
Prior experience supporting hybrid events and multi-speaker conferences.
