Remote Japanese Bilingual Generalist – AI Trainer ($25-$30 per hour)

Mercor is seeking native Japanese speakers for a short-term project with a leading AI lab.

• Record audio snippets of Japanese sentences.
• Evaluate the naturalness and grammar of written Japanese statements.
• Assess correctness of spoken Japanese recordings.

Please note:

The stated hourly range is an estimate for this project. Actual payment will be based on a per‑audio‑task‑completed basis. Each audio task will approximately take 1–2 minutes. Strong performers will have an opportunity to be promoted to reviewer and receive a higher hourly rate.

• Native‑Level Proficiency: Native fluency in Japanese (i.e., born and raised in Japan).
• Cultural Expertise: Deep understanding of Japanese cultural norms, traditions, and communication etiquette, especially in Japan.
• Audio Requirements:
  • Ability to listen to and record high‑quality audio content (quiet environment, clear pronunciation, lossless audio format, etc.).
• Nice to Have:
  • High proficiency in English to explain Japanese concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Comfortable using virtual platforms and digital tools.
  • Familiarity with language testing methodologies and evaluation frameworks.

• The project is a pilot and expected to last one week.
• Strong performers may receive future audio work on longer‑term engagements.
• The project is expected to start Monday, February 23, 2026.
• You’ll be working in a structured project environment with clear goals and tools.
