We are seeking a qualified Speech-Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide 1:1 remote support for a middle school student with intellectual disabilities. The SLI will facilitate communication between the student and instructional staff, working collaboratively as part of a DHH team to support learning and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities- Provide remote interpretation and support during instruction and related activities
- Use ASL and Pidgin Sign Language to meet the students communication needs
- Collaborate with the DHH team, educators, and support staff to ensure student success
- Maintain professional standards and confidentiality in all interactions
- Minimum EIPA 3.5 or above
- Must register or be registered with KCDHH
- To qualify for registration, candidate must meet at least one of the following:
- EIPA 4.0+ or ESSE
- Nationally certified interpreter (RID, advanced BEI)
- KQAS Level 4 or higher
- Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI)
- Qualified Video Remote Interpreter (VRI)
