Translator

We are looking to recruit a full‑time translator to provide simultaneous translation, in addition to translating documents, to join our translation team on a permanent, full‑time basis. On a day‑to‑day basis, you will deal with the translation of documents and share the responsibility for simultaneous translation with other members of the team as required. The successful candidate will be required to support as well with the coordination and management of external translation work and to be responsible for the interpretation equipment.

• Good computer and word‑processing skills.
• Ability to organise and prioritise work, working under pressure and under challenging circumstances.
• Fluency in Welsh, ALTE level 5 on appointment.

Penmorfa is our most central office, it is where our Chief Executive and Councillors are based. We play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the decision‑making process of the Council, including support and advice to Councillors; PA, administrative and project management support to all service areas, facilitating elections, the communications team, translation and the Welsh Language policy officer.
