Burmese Interpreter – Remote Contract at Propio Language Services

Propio Language Services is a provider of critical interpreting and translation services, connecting people worldwide in more than 350 languages. Established in 1998, we serve over 9,000 clients with remote and on‑site services, staffed by more than 10,000 contract interpreters.

• Provide consecutive, first‑person interpretation.
• Follow interpreter protocols, procedures, and all Propio policies related to information confidentiality and ethics.
• Continuously improve vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge for sectors such as medical, legal, and social services.

• Submit an updated resume in English at the time of application.
• Complete an English language proficiency test with a rating of “technical proficiency” (3 or higher on the ILR scale).
• Successfully complete a Mockoral interpretation session, achieving a passing score against 24 quality standards.
• Complete Propio’s online Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology assessment, scoring passing.
• Undergo a full background check and security screening.
• Sign a confidentiality agreement, adhere to ethics, and comply with HIPAA.

• Minimum 1 year of interpreting experience.

• National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC)
• International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA)
• California Healthcare Interpreters Association (CHIA)
