About the job Hmong Interpreter (Remote)

This is an independent contractor position offering a flexible work schedule and ongoing opportunities.

The interpreter will provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings. Assignments are conducted entirely through phone or Zoom and are available on a regular basis, depending on the demand for specific languages and the interpreter's qualifications.

• Fluency in both Hmong and English
• Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings, maintaining a high level of fidelity
• Strong ability to interpret orally between Hmong and English in both directions
• Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
• Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
• Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
• Must have a reliable phone, a laptop or desktop computer, and a stable high-speed internet connection
• Access to a quiet, private workspace to support remote assignments
