Summary: The Unconventional is seeking a highly skilled Chinese-Mandarin Linguist/Translator to support a short-term training development support project supporting the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The project is expected to last no more than 30-days and will include translation and voice-over work in the development of multi‑media virtual training material.

• Will provide linguistic subject matter expertise.
• Translate medical texts and documents from English into Chinese‑Mandarin.
• Provide voice‑over recordings of provided material into Chinese‑Mandarin.
• Perform other such duties as customarily assigned to this type of work.

• Must possess professional proficiency (ILR
  4) or higher in the Chinese‑Mandarin language across all four modalities (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
• Fluently speak, read, and write English.
• Know specialized vocabulary (and terminology) in both English and Chinese‑Mandarin related to medical terminology.
• Translate in a manner that is factually and conceptually accurate without changes, omissions, or additions.
• Preserve the tone and register of source language materials.
• Must possess your own equipment to support the work to include a reliable internet connection.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher within the medical field.
• Previous experience supporting similar work.

Must be able to pass a background check.
