Mechanical Breakdown Adjuster at QBE Insurance, based in Greenwood Village, CO, in a call center environment with hybrid working expectations.

Utilize standardized procedures to adjudicate mechanical breakdown claims. Answer telephone calls, determine coverage, negotiate parts and labor & ensure cost‑effective adjudication.

This position is in a call center environment. During training hours will be 8:00 am to 4:00 pm MT; after training 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm or 10:00 am to 6:00 pm MT, depending on business needs. There may be opportunities for earlier shifts depending on performance and business needs.

• Provide timely, personalized and quality customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Determine validity and adequacy of dealer repair orders and loss reports, ensuring parts and labor charges are accurate and reasonable.
• Enter information into claims software to document claims and verify parts and labor pricing, and to adjust and settle claims.
• Respond to inquiries from customers according to the terms and conditions of the policy.
• Provide accurate and timely information to internal and external stakeholders by utilizing subject matter expertise on policies.
• Collaborate with the team by escalating issues to upper‑level claims professionals to facilitate accurate assessment of complex exposures.

• 2 years relevant experience.

• Must be able to acquire state adjuster licenses for assigned states.

• National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification.
• Claims Adjuster’s license from any state.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Working knowledge of mechanical failures and repairs.
• Basic knowledge of material damage estimating processes, systems and requirements.
• Basic understanding of claims department processes and procedures.
• Basic understanding of insurance policy and contract language.
• Basic knowledge of claims legal regulations and processes.
• Spanish or French speaking a plus.
• Secondary school certification.
• Valid driver’s license.

The salary range for this role is provided above. The salary offer will be decided based on the role’s complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including education and experience.
