Salary range is approximately $54,000 – $67,000, with eligibility for bonus plans, leave of absence top-up programs, generous vacation time, personal days, premium-free benefits and pension plan. Salary is determined based on location, market conditions, internal pay equity and candidate qualifications. Candidates with salary expectations outside the range are encouraged to apply.
We offer a hybrid work environment balancing in-office and remote work. Acceptable locations include Montreal, QC.

Job OverviewUnderwriter II – Personal Lines, under general supervision, analyzes the acceptability of moderately complex business with moderate premium volume, providing value-added expertise and service to potential and existing policyholders.
Job Responsibilities- Perform risk analysis using technology and external data sources to quote, negotiate and authorize acceptance of risk.
- Determine eligibility for policy renewals based on guidelines and retention goals.
- Maintain accurate records and policy data; ensure completeness of information.
- Communicate decisions and respond to requests promptly and professionally.
- Assist with interpretation of rating procedures, wordings, underwriting policies and regulations.
- Handle work assignments, including calls, efficiently.
- Work effectively toward team goals and maintain positive relationships with internal and external parties, including networking at industry events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Three years of Property and Casualty industry experience.
- Proficiency in French and English is required.
- Post-secondary education or related business experience.
- Completed or actively pursuing a Property and Casualty Industry Designation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to review information carefully and comprehensively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide justification.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong decision-making skills with justification.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize daily work.
