We are excited to announce that the Management Liability team within IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Underwriter. This position will partner with wholesalers to grow a profitable private, not-for-profit management liability book.
Location and Hybrid WorkWork can be based in Naperville, IL;
Alpharetta, GA; or Plano, TX. Remote work can be considered for the right candidate. The hybrid model requires in‑office attendance Monday through Wednesday, with the option of remote work Thursday and Friday. Up to 25% travel is required.
- Review and analyze underwriting files to accept new business or renew existing business within the established authority level.
- Examine all documents associated with the underwriting file to identify exposure risks and minimize exposure using change requests, claim information, loss control and external databases.
- Read, evaluate and interpret contracts and policies to determine exposure and provide guidance and clarification consistent with experience.
- Provide clarification and verification of coverage to team members consistent with experience.
- Develop and maintain relationships with assigned distributors to achieve a consistent flow of new business.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds, beliefs and demographics to foster inclusion in the workplace.
- Perform other tasks as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business or a related field and at least five years of management liability underwriting experience.
- Advanced underwriting experience and deep knowledge of the management liability industry.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced knowledge of financial statements.
- Advanced loss development and advanced loss analysis skills to achieve optimal pricing.
- Creative application of coverage features, deductibles and terms and conditions to achieve company objectives.
- Strong math aptitude, excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- PC literacy and proficiency in spreadsheets and other computer programs.
- Authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- CPCU, ARM, or industry designations preferred.

CompensationThe annual gross salary range for this position is $63,270 to $137,880. Additional compensation may include a performance‑based bonus, 401(k) match, profit‑sharing opportunities and more.
