The IAT Insurance Group is seeking a Commercial Auto Claims Specialist who can be located in one of the following offices:
Alpharetta, GA;
Cheshire, CT;
Scottsdale, AZ;
Naperville, IL;
Rolling Meadows, IL;
Omaha, NE;
Raleigh, NC. The role handles complex commercial trucking claims across the United States, investigating the extent of the company's liability and managing injury claims from inception to conclusion, which may include attorney-represented and litigation cases. This is a hybrid role: in-office Monday through Wednesday at one of the listed offices, with the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.
For the ideal candidate, fully remote work will be considered.
- Handles complex, high‑exposure commercial auto claims
- Presents cases to senior management for reserving and direction; verifies and analyzes applicable coverage for the reported loss
- Evaluates, negotiates, and authorizes settlements within designated authority
- Directs and manages vendors and counsel, including approval of defense budgets
- Maintains resident/nonresident adjuster licenses as required
- Travel as required to handle catastrophic claims, attend mediations and settlement conferences
- Performs other duties as assigned
Must Have:
- HS degree/GED with 5+ years of relevant claims experience
- Insurance licenses to comply with state and IAT requirements
- Experience handling commercial claims and bodily injury claims
- Appropriate claims license
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience handling 3rd-party claims
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to set priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Authorized to work in the United States and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred to Have:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree
- Experience working in task-based claims systems
- Considerable experience handling litigated bodily injury claims
- Completion of AIC, CPCU, or other similar program
The annual base salary range for this posting is $60,600 – $95,700
. The total compensation includes base salary, performance-based bonuses, 401(k) match, profit sharing opportunities, and more. Actual salaries vary based on qualifications, skills, and location.
