. This position can be based in our Legal Department remotely from your home-office or from any of our U.S. based offices such as:
Acton, MA;
Columbia, MD;
Chicago, IL;
Oak Brook, IL;
Lakewood, CO;
Seattle, WA. This position will have a primary responsibility for managing the portfolio of commercial insurance for our company and will support the day-to-day operations of Geosyntec by helping project teams be responsive to client needs. Qualified candidates need a strong working knowledge of commercial insurance products (professional liability, commercial general liability, auto liability, cyber liability, etc.). A working knowledge of captive insurance programs would be advantageous.

- Work closely with the Chief Legal Officer to track, manage and renew Geosyntec’s commercial insurance program.
- Support leadership and project managers in understanding the insurance coverage maintained by the company and help in making decisions and recommendations on coverage updates.
- Collaborate with Chief Legal Officer and company leadership to review exposures and the insurance program, determining if the carrier is the best fit for the client while considering coverage, protection, and cost.
- Collaborate with the insurance broker to market, quote, and prepare proposals for clients from a risk management and insurance perspective to decide the best way to manage the company’s risk.
- Provide day-to-day service to the company’s practitioners, anticipate project insurance needs, and respond to issues and questions in a timely manner.
- Communicate and collaborate with insurance brokers to address issues, respond to questions and ensure necessary insurance is in place.
- Track and process premium payments, insurance audits and assessments.
- Request and review certificates of insurance for accuracy.
- Manage board material for captive insurance program, review monthly loss runs and support annual premium audits.
- Maintain insurance records and keep customers informed about pending changes in the insurance landscape that may impact coverage.
- Provide timely, professional, accurate communication to clients, teams, carrier representatives and other stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality of client records.
- A bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, business administration, or related field and/or 3 years of commercial insurance experience; or seven (7) years of directly related experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. (required)
- Experience renewing a commercial insurance program on behalf of a business is strongly preferred.
- High degree of critical thinking; ability to solve problems when the answer is not readily apparent. (required)
