Farm and Ranch Claims Adjuster

Job Summary

American Modern Insurance Group, a Munich Re company, is developing a new Farm and Ranch division and seeks an experienced Farm and Ranch Claims Adjuster for its Virtual Desk team. The role involves investigating, evaluating, and settling farm and ranch claims such as Farm Auto, Farm Dwelling, Farm Equipment, and Farm Structures. This position offers a hybrid schedule (40‑50% in the Amelia, OH office) with remote work options for qualified candidates elsewhere.

• Investigate and evaluate farm and ranch claims, including:
  • Crop damage
  • Livestock losses
  • Equipment and property damage
  • Business interruption
• Conduct virtual inspections and interviews with policyholders, witnesses, and other stakeholders.
• Gather and analyze data, such as financial records, agricultural reports, and other relevant documents.
• Determine the extent of damages and losses, and calculate claim settlements in accordance with policy terms and conditions.
• Communicate claim decisions and settlements to policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of claims activity, including documentation of investigations, evaluations, and settlements.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and company policies and procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, construction management, or a related field).
• At least two years of experience in farm and ranch claims adjusting.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural operations, including crop and livestock production.
• Familiarity with insurance principles, policy terms, conditions, and exclusions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn company‑specific software and systems.

The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $100,000 annually, plus bonus and the benefits listed above.
