Commercial Auto Senior Claims Specialist

. IAT has an immediate need for a Commercial Auto Senior Claims Specialist who can be located in one of the following locations:

  • Alpharetta, Georgia
  • Virginia Beach, Virginia

  • Scottsdale, Arizona
  • Naperville, Illinois
  • Rolling Meadows, Illinois
  • St. Petersburg, Florida
  • Omaha, Nebraska
  • Raleigh, North Carolina

This role will handle complex commercial trucking claims covering the entire United States. The Senior Claims Specialist is responsible for investigating the extent of the company's liability and handling injury claims from inception until conclusion, including attorney‑represented and litigation cases. The position works a hybrid schedule from any listed IAT office. The hybrid schedule requires working from the office with colleagues Monday through Wednesday, with the option to work Thursday and Friday remotely.

Although preference is for in‑office work, fully remote work may be considered for the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Handles complex, high‑exposure commercial auto claims.
  • Presents cases to senior management for reserving and direction, as required by claim guidelines. Verifies and analyzes applicable coverage.
  • Evaluates, negotiates, and authorizes settlements within designated authority.
  • Selects, directs and manages vendors and counsel, including approval of defense budgets.
  • Maintains resident/nonresident adjuster licenses as required.
  • Travels as required to handle catastrophic claims, attend mediations and settlement conferences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • HS degree or GED with 8+ years of relevant claims experience.
  • Insurance licenses to comply with state and IAT requirements.
  • Experience handling commercial claims.
  • Experience handling bodily injury claims.
  • Appropriate claims license.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience handling third‑party claims.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require visa sponsorship.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Associate or bachelor's degree.
  • Experience working in task‑based claims systems.
  • Considerable experience handling litigated bodily injury claims.
  • Completion of AIC, CPCU, or other similar program.

Compensation

The annual gross salary range for this position is $55,200 – $120,330. Total compensation includes base salary, performance‑based bonus opportunities, 401(k) match, profit‑sharing, and more. Actual salaries vary by qualifications, skills, competencies, and location.
