Claims Examiner – Workers Compensation (Remote – Home State License Required)

About the role: We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable team member to serve as a floater in our Workers’ Compensation Claims department. This role provides critical support during periods of transition, ensuring continuity and exceptional service for our clients. The floater will be cross‑trained across multiple jurisdictions, gaining comprehensive knowledge of our processes and systems. This position offers a unique opportunity for professional growth, with potential transition into a permanent team placement based on business needs and individual strengths.
Responsibilities- Analyze and process complex or technically difficult workers’ compensation claims.
- Investigate and gather information to determine claim exposure.
- Manage claims through well‑developed action plans toward timely resolution.
- Negotiate settlements within designated authority.
- Calculate and assign reserves, ensuring reserve adequacy throughout claim life.
- Calculate and pay benefits due, approve and make timely claim payments and adjustments, and settle claims within authority level.
- Prepare required state filings within statutory limits.
- Manage litigation process, ensuring timely and cost‑effective claims resolution.
- Perform other duties as assigned and support the organization’s quality program(s).
- Travel as required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferred).
- Professional certification applicable to the line of business (preferred).
- Five (5) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Home‑state workers’ compensation license (required).
