Job Summary
Zurich North America is hiring a Claims Specialist I to join our dynamic Auto Claims Team. As a Claims Specialist you will manage auto liability, property damage, and comparative‑negligence claims, interpreting, investigating, and evaluating auto policies and coverage issues. You will take ownership of assigned claims from start to finish, ensuring they are resolved efficiently and effectively, while building strong partnerships with customers and brokers.
Responsibilities- Handle auto liability, property damage, comprehensive, and collision claims.
- Investigate coverage and liability issues to determine loss and settlement.
- Ensure claims are processed from initial notification to final settlement.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders to achieve high‑quality service.
- Adhere to the hybrid work model, reporting to a designated North American Claims office (Atlanta, GA; Addison, TX; Schaumburg, IL; Omaha, NE).
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in claims or insurance
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with 4+ years of experience in claims or insurance
- Completion of the Zurich Claims Training Program and 2'{' }+ years of experience in claims or insurance
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, associate degree, 2'+ years of experience in claims or insurance
- Required adjuster license(s) (must obtain and maintain)
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products
- Prior experience in auto claims handling or a related customer‑service field
- 4+ years of experience handling auto property damage and comprehensive/collision claims
- Strong knowledge of insurance industry terminology
- Proven analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to multi‑task and adapt in a fast‑paced, changing environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Salary is based on role, location, skills, and experience and follows local laws arbeids to ensure fair compensation. The national average proposed diabetic range is $49,500.00 - $81,000.00 with a short‑term incentive bonus eligibility of 10%. Eligibility for bonuses and merit increases applies across the role.
