Commercial Insurance Account Manager - Transportation (Remote Opportunity)

Title: Account Manager - Commercial Lines

Location: Fully Remote (Pacific or Mountain Time Zones). Supporting:
Lehi, UT.

Book Focus: Transportation.
Required: Active P&C license and experience with commercial transportation accounts.

Note: Remote positions may require occasional on-site presence near a branch.

About the Role: Manage assigned book, ensuring account retention and supporting new business. Coordinate administrative and customer service activities, resolve issues, ensure no errors/omissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
  • Lead daily activities of the account management team.
  • Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
  • Manage policy expirations and renewals.
  • Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, collect outstanding balances.
  • Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Monitor activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
  • Communicate frequent, transparent updates to the account team on workload status and issues.
  • Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, respond quickly.
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  • Seek and adopt best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate integrity and leadership, champion IOA values.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in insurance industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
  • Active licensing; professional designation (CIC or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
