About the Role

The Loss Control Department is currently seeking a construction service consultant for our Northeast Ohio territory. This position is responsible for the risk management services and related activities for our larger construction accounts. Our Construction Service Consultants help our insureds mitigate construction risks to reduce or eliminate potential losses. This is a home‑based, remote position that will require periodic travel for business and client meetings, including occasional travel to our Fairfield, Ohio headquarters.

Pay range: $75,000 – $110,000 annually determined by education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate construction‑related risk mitigation plans.
  • Conduct job‑site visits as part of the consultative assessments.
  • Provide regular updates to all stakeholders regarding risk mitigation progress.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with insureds and representative agencies.
  • Create technically detailed reports assessing risks within the construction industry.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to conduct qualitative risk assessments in the construction industry.
  • Professional designations related to construction and/or construction safety.
  • Familiarity with risk‑transfer subcontract agreements.
  • Ability to work remotely within a multi‑state region with flexibility to travel (~30%).
  • Diverse knowledge of construction industry hazards and mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to manage safety training programs and inspections.
  • Time‑management skills and ability to work independently to accomplish goals.
  • Strong interpersonal, consultative, and organizational skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities.
  • Strong data analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated pursuit of continuing education.
  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Office tools and related software.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Construction, or a construction‑related field.
  • 4–5 years of experience within the construction industry.
Preferred but Not Required
  • Loss‑control experience with a property & casualty insurance organization.
  • Familiarity with the independent agency system.
  • Professional insurance risk‑management designations such as CSP, CPCU, or ARM.
  • Knowledge of commercial lines insurance products and coverages.
