This is a hybrid-eligible position, where Monday through Wednesday would be working in one of our offices, with Thursday and Friday eligible for work-from-home days. Office locations include:
Reno (NV), Monterey (CA), Roseville (CA), Bakersfield (CA), Phoenix (AZ), and Spokane (WA).

The Senior Underwriter is responsible for the development and production of new and renewal Agribusiness accounts. Oversees the maintenance of constructive business relationships with assigned agents and works with them to identify new business opportunities, evaluate risks, recommends corrective actions and educates the producer to identify risks that meet Company guidelines. Reviews individual applications for Ag lines to evaluate the degree of risk involved and to approve or reject based on Company policies.

Develop new business, retains renewal book of business, and manages territory of assigned agents.

• College Degree in finance, business administration, insurance or other related business discipline is preferred including and
• 3-5 years’ experience as an Ag or Commercial lines underwriter.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize assigned authorities to make decisions that benefit the company’s bottom line and provide solutions to our valued agency partners
• CPCU certification or completion of technical insurance coursework focusing on underwriting principles is preferred
• Proficient with Excel, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, Tableau preferred
• Experience with Policy Center and Guidewire highly desirable

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

• Rating plans (ISO or similar) and commercial lines coverages
• Knowledge of social, economic and competitive aspects…
