Zurich is seeking a Underwriting Specialist OR Executive Underwriter – MM Complex Property to join our Middle Markets team in the Dallas Market.

Dallas, TX – Hybrid Remote Working

• Serve as a customer industry advocate, improving the customer experience by understanding risk and offering end‑to‑end solutions.
• Use a disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment, and pricing.
• Apply risk insights, data, and models to drive informed decisions at point of sale.
• Identify gaps and align Zurich’s products and value proposition to provide contract certainty.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills and act as an innovative advisor.
• Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business.
• Maintain market‑facing presence and production within the growing Middle Markets property division.
• Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, insurance laws, regulations, and rating manual rules.
• Develop and maintain agency and broker relationships.
• Work within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in underwriting or market‑facing.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in claims or underwriting support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in underwriting or market‑facing.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in claims or underwriting support.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in underwriting or market‑facing.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in claims or underwriting support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in underwriting or market‑facing.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in claims or underwriting support.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Market‑facing, property underwriting experience.
• 3+ years of underwriting experience in Middle Market or larger.
• Ability to assess risk effectively.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Strong retail broker relationships.
• Superior skills in relationship building, active listening, needs analysis, and win‑win negotiating.
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of progression to positions of increasing responsibility.
• CPCU and ARM a plus.

Combined salary range: $78,100.00 – $. Underwriting Specialist: $78,100.00 – $ (10% short‑term incentive eligibility). Executive Underwriter: $ – $ (15% short‑term incentive eligibility). Additional rewards may include short‑term incentive bonuses and merit increases.
