We seek an experienced account manager with a P&C license. We also welcome an entry‑level candidate with office and customer service experience who is keen to build a career in insurance. Salary and title will be commensurate with experience and credentials. The Account Manager works with Advisors/Client Executives and Account Executives to service client accounts, supports day‑to‑day account management, manages the renewal and marketing process, prepares materials for presentations, and assists team members with client servicing.
You will take an active role in client meetings and develop relationships with clients and carrier contacts, working proactively to deliver efficient services. You will manage your own book of business. This is a full‑time role based at one of our offices in Accomac, VA;
Chincoteague Island, VA; or Ocean Pines, MD. Standard hours are Monday‑Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. EST. In‑office presence is required. Remote work may be considered only for highly experienced, P&C‑licensed professionals who live outside a regular commuting distance but can report to the office when needed.
- Works proactively to maintain relationships with carrier and client contacts and leads client meetings for assigned accounts.
- Has responsibility for managing the renewal and marketing process from start to finish, in conjunction with Account Executives and Advisors.
- Communicates directly with clients and carriers, collaborating with the Account Executive or Advisor/Client Executive.
- Creates and maintains client files in accordance with office procedures; keeps client policy records in the agency management system.
- Has an assigned book of business.
- Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self‑confident to make sound independent decisions.
- Able to work overtime as necessary.
- Can interact successfully with a variety of people and function well in both team and autonomous settings.
- Handles situations in a calm, courteous, and professional manner.
- Customer focused to establish and maintain effective relationships.
- Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Intermediate experience in agency management system(s).
- Can prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Possesses strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Sharp attention to detail, decision‑making skills, and problem resolution.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, deadlines, and technology.
- More than 2 years of Personal Lines experience; recent retail brokerage or agency experience required.
- Experience with East Coast markets preferred.
- Experience with EPIC agency management system or similar system required.
- HS Diploma or equivalent required; additional education and/or related training preferred.
- A P&C Insurance License is required upon hire or obtainable within 60 days of hire.
We offer a competitive salary, PTO & paid holidays, 401(k) with match, exclusive discount programs, health & wellness programs, and more. The base salary range is $35,000 – $55,000, determined by experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level, scope, and geographic location. Actual base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
