Technical Underwriting Manager-Commercial Surety; remote from Texas

Position Purpose

• This is a remote position, preferably from Houston, TX or Dallas, TX. We may consider a Director level for the right candidate depending on experience.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage profit and loss for a book of business within the territory.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies targeting key brokers, attend industry events.
• Perform underwriting functions including financial, account, and industry analysis.
• Adhere to underwriting guidelines and authority limits.
• Support and advise other team members on underwriting and territorial issues.
• Lead special projects as needed.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies

• Strong analytical skills for underwriting solutions.
• Effective communication of findings and recommendations.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Ability to operate independently and strategically.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range is $121,720 - $177,407, complemented by a comprehensive total rewards package including bonuses, ESOP, 401(k), health benefits, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
