Insurance Expert - Marine Area

Location: Via Milano

Overview Insurance Expert – Marine Area role ed in Milan, Italy. You will join our Group F&A Team in Milan and help protect Bolton’s assets and support business continuity through effective insurance and claims management.

Responsibilities Management of insurance policies, with a focus on Marine Cargo, P&I, Hull & Machinery, Property, Liability, and Tampering.

Claims management: handling claims, overseeing the full process from notification to settlement, while maintaining strong relationships with brokers and insurance companies.

Collaborate with brokers, loss adjusters, and insurance companies to ensure timely and effective solutions.

Risk analysis and mitigation: identify potential risks and propose the most appropriate insurance or risk prevention solutions.

Coordinate loss prevention activities and align insurer and internal stakeholders’ requests, ensuring alignment with all parties’ expectations while minimizing potential financial impact.

Your Team You’ll directly report to our Insurance Manager. The role does not include direct reports.

What Makes You a Great Fit

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields. A specialization in Risk Management or Insurance is an advantage.

Work Experience:

5/8 years of demonstrated experience in risk management and claims handling within maritime, cargo, or shipping operations.

Technical

Skills:

Strong knowledge of insurance programs;

Solid understanding of claims management processes and insurance renewals;

Familiarity with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) principles;

Mandatory: fluency in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
