The Executive Specialist will handle a regular diary of primary and excess Cyber claims and must have experience handling Cyber incidents through litigation. The role includes analyzing and resolving claims from coverage determination through resolution—assessing potential exposure in a timely and accurate manner, handling incident response, coverage investigation, regulatory investigations, litigation and negotiation following cyber incidents. Claims involve a high degree of technical evaluation and often include complex issues.
Experience handling Cyber claims is required, with experience in Professional Liability, Commercial Crime, and/or D&O claims also preferred. This position reports to an Executive Risk Claims Manager. The role has a flexible workplace location with the ability to work remotely or with a hybrid in‑office/remote presence in Jersey City, NJ;
Morristown, NJ;
Chicago, IL; or other C&F office nationwide.
- Accountable for the full handling and control of all claims assigned, including coverage analysis, letter writing, investigation, incident response, reserve adequacy, diary maintenance, vendor management, reinsurance reporting, and claim disposition.
- Promptly evaluate potential exposure for all claims and adapt to changing circumstances as claims develop.
- Segregate significant claims from straightforward claims and formulate a resolution strategy early, setting appropriate reserves and communicating with counsel, insureds and others to achieve the strategy.
- Present claim overviews, both written and oral, to management routinely.
- Deliver superior customer service to policyholders, agents and others during the claims handling process.
- Market claim services and coordinate presentations to customers or potential customers, supporting C&F’s underwriters, as needed.
- Attend conferences in the United States on management’s request.
- Work on special projects as assigned.
- 3+ years of experience handling cyber claims (preferred). Salary commensurate with experience.
- Juris Doctor preferred.
- Multiple state adjuster licenses.
- Demonstrated presentation skills.
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with support staff, claims staff, underwriting peers, actuaries, policyholders and senior management.
- Travel required for occasional in‑person attendance at mediations, settlement conferences, trials and industry conferences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
