Our Casualty Claims team is currently seeking early in career talent to join our Claims Development Program in our Itasca, IL location. This is a full‑time non‑exempt role.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Casualty Associate Adjuster is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of casualty claims in alignment with policy provisions, industry best practices, and applicable jurisdictional regulations. This role involves accurate input and management of claim data, as well as providing clear guidance to insureds and claimants throughout the claims process and available options.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
  • Engage with the New Graduate Claims Development Program cohort and learning support system, including management, Learning & Development consultants, team leads and formal/informal mentors.
  • Participate in a structured casualty claim training program supporting professional development through Learn, Reflect, Apply methodology.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with and gain exposure to multiple lines of business.
  • Learn and apply core casualty claim concepts under supervision while building confidence and expertise in delivering high‑quality outcomes.
  • Conduct recorded phone interviews with involved parties to confirm cause of loss, coverage, liability, and damages.
  • Obtain all required insurance adjusting licenses during the onboarding experience.
  • Leverage critical thinking to analyze, evaluate, and negotiate claims of varying complexity.
  • Identify potentially suspicious or fraudulent claims and escalated appropriately in collaboration with the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).

What You Need to Apply
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in insurance or risk management and 0–3 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate foundational knowledge of insurance concepts (preferred) with the ability to steadily build proficiency.
  • Operate a personal computer and standard office equipment efficiently.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods during the workday.
  • Flexibility to work on‑site as required by business needs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as necessary for the role.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced, and occasionally high‑pressure environment.
  • Perform duties in environments that may include moderate noise levels.
  • Maintain a reliable, high‑speed home internet connection to support remote work responsibilities.
