Senior Full-Stack Developer – Accessibility & Inclusive Technology (Contract, Remote – Canada)

We’re hiring a Senior Full-Stack Developer to help build equitable, accessible digital systems that work for everyone. This role focuses on embedding accessibility into all layers of software — front-end components, back-end systems, and the testing pipelines that hold them together.

You’ll be part of a cross-functional team rethinking how people access vital public services online, contributing to a more inclusive future by writing clean, accessible, and thoughtful code.

• Develop accessible front-end and back-end systems using modern frameworks and tools
• Build with inclusive, semantic HTML
  , strong ARIA practices, and assistive tech compatibility
• Participate in manual and automated accessibility testing
  , debugging issues from a user-centered lens
• Contribute to VPATs, ACRs
  , and documentation that supports long-term compliance and transparency
• Collaborate with designers, testers, and product teams to improve accessibility outcomes across the board

• 6+ years of experience in full-stack or frontend development
• Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA), keyboard navigation, and responsive design
• Experience working with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, manual screen reader testing)
• Comfortable working in agile, iterative teams and adjusting to evolving needs
• Strong communication skills — especially around access and usability
