The Role

Brio Health is expanding its European clinical organization and is seeking a Clinical Support Specialist to support the clinical study and early adoption of the BrioVAD mechanical circulatory support (MCS) system across Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.

This is a home-office-based, field-facing role requiring frequent travel to implanting centers. The role is highly clinical and hands-on, supporting implant procedures, post-operative care, and ICU teams, while also developing strong technical expertise in the BrioVAD system.

This position is well suited for perfusionists, ICU nurses, or early-career MCS professionals looking to transition into a medical device field role. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy in the field, while receiving close mentorship from the Market Development Director and ongoing support from Medical Affairs, Quality, and R&D.

What You’ll Do Clinical & Procedural Support
  • Provide on-site clinical and technical support during BrioVAD implant procedures and post-operative management
  • Support ICU teams with device operation, troubleshooting, and therapy optimization
  • Serve as a trusted clinical partner to surgeons, perfusionists, ICU nurses, and VAD coordinators during early cases and routine use
Technical & Product Expertise
  • Support system setup, pre-implant checks, and device configuration
  • Maintain deep technical knowledge of the BrioVAD system, controller, driveline, and related accessories
  • Troubleshoot device and peripheral issues in real time, ensuring use in accordance with IFUs, training materials, and clinical protocols
Training & Site Enablement
  • Support hospital onboarding and early-case execution at new and existing implanting centers
  • Deliver structured, role-appropriate training to implanting physicians, perfusionists, and ICU staff
  • Reinforce clinical best practices and contribute to continuous knowledge sharing across the field team
Market & Clinical Feedback
  • Capture structured clinical and user feedback from sites and communicate insights to Market Development, Medical Affairs, and R&D
  • Support early market development activities, including site qualification visits and clinical meetings
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Market Development, Medical Affairs, Quality, and Regulatory partners to support safe and effective system use
  • Support clinical study activities as needed, without serving as a primary CRA
What You Bring Clinical or Industry Background

Candidates must bring hands-on exposure to cardiac or critical care environments, demonstrated by one of the following:

  • Perfusionist, ICU nurse, or cardiac surgery–related clinical role
  • Experience in a clinical or field-facing role at an MCS or cardiovascular medical device company
Experience Level & Career Stage
  • 1–5 years of relevant clinical or industry experience
  • Clear motivation and capability to develop into an independent Clinical Field Specialist
Skills & Professional Attributes
  • Comfortable operating in high-acuity environments (OR and ICU)
  • Technically curious, hands-on, and solutions-driven
  • Able to work independently in the field with sound judgment on when to escalate
  • Strong interpersonal skills and credibility with physicians and hospital staff
  • Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to manage frequent travel and dynamic schedules across the DACH region
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Language & Location Requirements
  • Fluent German (required)
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • Based in Germany, Austria, or the Netherlands
What We Offer
  • Entry into a highly specialized mechanical circulatory support (MCS) field with a steep clinical and technical learning curve
  • Direct mentorship from an experienced Market Development Director with hands-on exposure to early cases and site development
  • Broad, real-world exposure across clinical operations, product, and early commercial execution
  • Meaningful responsibility and visibility within a fast-moving European medical technology company
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience, role scope, and regional market standards
