The State of North Carolina Business Unit manages SAS’s comprehensive relationship with the State of North Carolina. This fully integrated business unit is responsible for end-to-end engagement, including sales and contracting, innovation, delivery, operations and support, and customer success.

As an intern, you might:
  • Work cross-functionally with teams across SAS to deliver outcomes that support both organizational goals and client needs.
  • Provide input and work on the “Go to Market ”strategy within one of the divisions within the State.
  • Support delivery innovation initiatives within the Innovation Hub.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D and Hosted Managed Services (HMS) teams to drive integrated solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • You are an undergraduate student studying Business/Economics, Political Science, or a related field;
    not graduating prior to December 2026
    .
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work effectively on large projects and within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft Copilot (M365).
  • You’recurious, passionate,authentic and accountable. These are ourvaluesand influence everything we do.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
  • You’re interested in the future of data and AI and embrace technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of state government operations and political environments.

Pay Transparency:

The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 – $30 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master’s/Ph.D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
