BI Developer Tier 4 - Micro Strategy Cloud (Strategy)

Remote Ongoing 12-month+ contract opening. W2 hourly pay rate: $75/hr. range. Benefits available.

System One IT is staffing a 12-month+ contract opening for a Micro Strategy (Strategy) Cloud Developer to support a federal IT program in Baltimore, MD. This is a remote position, with no current on-site requirements. Eligibility to complete a Public Trust clearance is required.

• Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in a computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.
• Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
• Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

• Provides technical direction and management in the maintenance and development of the reporting components of the data warehouse.
• Maintains an understanding of the definitions, analyses, and reporting outputs from the data warehouse.
• Leads the analysis, design, development, and implementation of new reporting requirements and provides estimates to support timelines and deliverables.
• Ensures testing and verification of new reporting processes.
• May act as a lead, responsible for planning and monitoring schedule milestone and deliverables.
• Must possess effective oral and written skills and strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Must be a team player able to work in a dynamic environment and have a working knowledge of the SDLC and the associated processes and documentation.

  9-13 years related experience;
  
  Education:
  
  Bachelor of Science in a related field or equivalent years of experience.
• Must possess at least 5 years of Micro Strategy (Strategy) development experience.
• Must have hands‑on knowledge/experience with Micro Strategy (Strategy) Cloud and cloud‑based tools such as Workstation/library.
• Experience with conversion from Micro Strategy on‑prem to Micro Strategy (Strategy) Cloud is preferred.
• Well‑versed with the Strategy product suite, namely Micro Strategy (Strategy) Desktop/Workstation, Micro Strategy (Strategy) Intelligent Server, Micro Strategy (Strategy) Web, Library, Dossiers, Report Service Document.
• Must have the ability to manage Micro Strategy (Strategy) objects, including, but not limited to, attributes, facts, metrics, filters, and prompts.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues/defects, analyze data, and present analysis.
• Experience in Micro Strategy (Strategy) Architect, proficient understanding of Schema - Star and Mixed schema.
• Experience working in environments that use Redshift and Glue is preferred.
• Must have experience implementing various types of reports, documents, dashboards, and dossiers.
• Hands‑on experience in developing complex Dynamic Dashboards using multiple data sets, Report Services Document, and Intelligent Cubes.
• Proficient knowledge of SQL programming.
• Experience in Micro Strategy (Strategy) Administrative tasks such as User Management, Object Management, I‑Server tuning, Web Administration, and Enterprise Manager.
• Proficient knowledge of Data modeling and Data warehousing concepts preferred.
