Job Overview

FEI Systems is looking for an Agile Scrum Master to support their teams and help them meet delivery goals. The Scrum Master will facilitate team events, remove impediments, protect the team from distractions, and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

All candidates will be required to complete at least one in‑person interview as part of our hiring process.

Key

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coaches the team to create better solutions, improve business results, and refine processes.
  • Facilitates team meetings, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑up, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
  • Identifies and removes impediments that prevent the team from delivering value.
  • Protects the team from outside distractions and interruptions.
  • Tracks and communicates agreed‑upon team metrics, ensuring progress is transparent to stakeholders.
  • Coaches the team on Scrum principles and practices, helping them self‑organize and continuously improve.
  • Ensures clear communication between the team, Product Owner, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensures the Development Team understands and maintains commitment to the Definition of Done.
  • Provides oversight for compliance to organizational standards (Security, CMMI, etc.) and best practices.
  • Assists in coordinating remediation of gaps in compliance with organizational standards.
  • Assists the Product Owner in preparing and refining the backlog for PI and Iteration Planning.
  • Helps the Scrum Team understand the need for clear, concise Product Backlog items.
  • Ensures the Product Owner arranges the Backlog to maximize value.
  • Coaches the Product Owner to keep the backlog ready for sprint backlog.
Release Train Transparency
  • Coordinates with other Scrum Masters, the System Team, and shared resources in ART PI Planning meetings.
  • Works with the above teams throughout each Iteration and PI.
  • Co‑ordinates with other Scrum Masters in Scrum of Scrums or ART Sync with Product Managers/Product Owners.
  • Fosters normalized estimating within the team.
  • Helps teams operate under architectural and portfolio governance, system‑level integration, and system demos.
  • Fosters adoption of Agile technical practices.
  • Escalates team impediments to leadership.
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Scrum Master Certified (SSM, CSM, PSM) or equivalent.
  • At least one SAFe certification preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Dev Ops preferred.
  • Certification in another agile competency (e.g., product owner, developer) preferred.
  • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, SAFe, or other scaling models.
  • Servant leadership and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 2+ years engaging stakeholders, contributors, and technical resources to analyze user needs and resource limitations.
  • 2+ years facilitating discussions of complex, high‑value IT delivery projects that require coordination of development or technology work across multiple platforms.
  • Experience with in an IT and/or infrastructure environment preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude and experience leading teams in delivering quality software.
  • Experience applying Lean Thinking in large organizations.
