Network Engineer

Our client, a tech-driven quant trading firm, based in Boston, is seeking a Network Engineer to join the fund. You will be a key member of the Network & Security team which is responsible for the day-to-day operations and architecture of a global network.

The company currently has two physical data centers as well as multiple Azure cloud-based environments globally. They also support multiple remote office locations globally including London, Sydney & Singapore.

If you are a skilled senior network & voice professional with experience in network operations, design, and deployment, working on a highly available network infrastructure this is the role for you.

You should have experience deploying and maintaining Cisco based networking, Microsoft & Cisco voice implementations and Azure Cloud Networking, while working as part of a high performing team and be prepared to work outside of usual business hours and in locations outside of the corporate offices supporting our data centers and remote offices, as needed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain the global enterprise network including wide area and local area networks as well as IP convergence.
• Maintain our Azure cloud networking environments which include: VNET creation & peering, VPN/Express Route Gateways, and Express Route Circuit implementation and support
• Install and maintain routers and switches in various network configurations supporting VLANs, Qos, VoIP, and advanced access-lists.
• Monitor and evaluate the network, make recommendations, and deploy solutions to enhance network performance
• Ensure that network issues arising on a day-to-day operation are identified, reported, and resolved in a timely manner.
• Monitor and maintain the global voice systems including;
• Microsoft Teams Calling Environment via Direct Routing
• SIP Connectivity via Masergy and One Stream
• Cisco Unified Communications Manager v14.x, Unity Connection v14.x
• Experience with switching and routing in wide and local area networks
• Experience supporting enterprise wide and local area networks
• Cisco Voice Router (CUBE/SBC) experience
• Management of SIP Connectivity
• Microsoft Teams Calling with Direct Routing experience is vital
• Cisco Unified Communications Deployment & Support experience is vital
• Expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP), Layer 1 connectivity via multiple medias, and network management concepts
• Dedication to neat and effective cable management
• Solid knowledge of BGP and EIGRP routing protocols and WAN connectivity options
• Dedication to neat and effective cable management
• Excellence in testing and documentation of procedures
• Experience in implementing and monitoring network event logging and analysis
• Experience with packet capture and interpretation (Wireshark)
• Experience in Configuration & Change Management processes
• Advanced level networking certifications such as CCVP/CCNP (Cisco) –helpful
