Position: Information Technology Generalist 1

THE POSITION

If so, look no further! Apply for this Information Technology Generalist 1 position with our Enterprise Technology Services Office’s Health and Human Services (HHS) IT Delivery Center.

We provide end-to-end IT services to all staff in the Department of Human Services (DHS), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA). DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position you will deliver, assemble, install, configure, and troubleshoot computers, equipment, and peripherals for departments that provide essential human programs and benefits throughout the Commonwealth. This IT service covers a wide range of devices such as desktop clients, mobile devices, and tablets. It involves various operating systems, office productivity applications, enterprise applications, third‑party software, email access, internet and intranet connectivity, network connections, remote VPN connections, smartphones, mobile apps, printing devices, network cabling, and peripheral devices.

Installation, setup, configuration, support, and documentation for each component category are necessary for this service.

In addition to receiving calls, emails, and tickets for assistance, you will also be responsible for accessing users’ computers to collect diagnostics and to resolve hardware and software issues. You will act as a bridge between the IT department and end users during the problem‑solving process.

WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Full‑time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch.
  • Telework:
    You may work from home part‑time, up to three days per week. You must come into the office twice per week at a minimum. Telework requires a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and an approved location inside Pennsylvania. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary:
    In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
  • One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of information technology experience in applications development or maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or design, or other IT support/administration services; or
  • One year of IT experience in applications development or maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or design, or other IT support/administration services, and an associate’s degree in any IT field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
