Power BI Developer

An organisation delivering advanced data and AI solutions for large enterprises and public sector clients is seeking a Power BI Developer to join their analytics team on a contract basis.

This role focuses on helping organisations better understand and utilise their data through strong requirements gathering, data modelling, and business intelligence development
. You will design and deliver Power BI dashboards and reports
, work within modern cloud data platforms
, and collaborate with stakeholders to generate actionable insights.

This is a remote contract role running through August 2026
, though you should be local to Washington DC.

• Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards that provide clear, actionable insights

• Conduct deep-dive analysis using SQL and BI tools to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities

• Build and maintain interactive dashboards
  , ensuring performance, usability, and consistency

• Support ETL processes and data pipelines within a cloud-based data environment

• Work with data lakes and warehouse environments to understand data ingestion, storage, and transformations

• Develop and maintain ERDs and data dictionaries to document data structures and definitions

• Gather and translate business requirements into effective reporting and analytics solutions

• Support data governance, lineage, and metadata management practices

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver scalable BI solutions

• Assess and improve existing reporting solutions, including converting legacy reports into Power BI dashboards

• Define and develop metrics to measure operational performance and organisational health

• Maintain data quality and reliability across internal and external data sources

• Present findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of experience in data and analytics roles within cloud environments

• Advanced Snowflake SQL proficiency

• Advanced Power BI expertise
  , including data modelling, DAX, and report optimisation

• Experience working within Azure-based data ecosystems

• Experience creating ERDs, data dictionaries, and supporting data governance initiatives

• Strong experience gathering and translating business requirements
