We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to support enterprise software quality initiatives within a large public-sector technology environment.
This role focuses on designing and implementing automated and manual testing strategies to ensure high-quality software releases. The selected consultant will develop automated test scripts, validate business requirements through test cases, track defects, and collaborate closely with Agile development teams to deliver reliable and secure applications.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in test automation, API testing, SQL-based data validation, and Agile development environments, along with the ability to support testing activities across development, QA, and user acceptance testing (UAT) environments.
Key Responsibilities Test Automation Development- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for application testing
- Create and maintain documentation for automated testing processes
- Prioritize test scenarios and develop execution strategies for automated testing
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and testing strategies
- Conduct multiple testing types including unit, integration, regression, system, smoke, performance, and user acceptance testing
- Support development teams in identifying and resolving application defects
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, SOAPUI, or similar
- Verify authentication processes, user permissions, and role-based access controls
- Log, categorize, and prioritize defects using Jira or similar defect tracking tools
- Track testing progress and produce test execution reports
- Maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM) to ensure coverage of business requirements
- Work closely with Agile Scrum teams to deliver sprint-based software releases
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and testing cycles
- Support testing activities across development, testing, and UAT environments
- Perform accessibility testing using tools and assistive technologies
- Ensure applications meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards
- Support quality improvements and compliance with enterprise testing standards
- 8+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
- Strong experience with:
- Writing and executing test plans and test cases
- Automated testing using UFT
- API testing using Postman, SOAPUI, JMeter, or similar
- SQL query writing (CRUD operations)
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience using Jira and Xray Test Case Management tools
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Experience performing defect tracking and quality reporting
- Experience working with accessibility testing tools and WCAG standards
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming concepts
- Experience working with large enterprise or government systems
- Experience working in complex Agile software delivery environments
