Business Systems Analyst – HR Data Archiving (Remote)
Our client is seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support a large-scale HR data archiving initiative. This project will focus on consolidating and archiving historical data from multiple HR systems, including Lawson, UKG, and Kronos, using Open Text as the primary archiving solution.
This role will help define business requirements, align stakeholders, and ensure HR data is archived in a compliant, accessible, and sustainable way as part of broader system lifecycle planning.
Responsibilities- Lead business requirements gathering for archiving legacy HR data across payroll, timekeeping, and core HR systems.
- Partner with HR, IT, and compliance stakeholders to define data retention needs, access requirements, and reporting considerations.
- Work directly with Open Text to translate business requirements into technical specifications and validate archiving logic.
- Identify data dependencies across systems and ensure accurate mapping and structured extraction.
- Support project planning, documentation, and change management as scope evolves.
- Ensure archived data remains audit‑ready and accessible for business and regulatory needs.
- Assist in defining governance and long‑term ownership of archived HR data.
- 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
- Strong experience working with HR systems (Lawson, UKG, Kronos, payroll, timekeeping, employee data).
- Prior involvement in data archiving, system sunset, or data migration projects.
- Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to clarify ambiguous requirements.
- Experience collaborating with third‑party vendors, ideally Open Text.
- Strong documentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Comfortable operating in an evolving, early‑stage project environment.
- Experience with HR data retention policies or compliance considerations.
- Exposure to SQL, data extraction, or enterprise databases (SQL Server, Oracle).
- Background supporting system decommission or modernization initiatives.
- Clear, documented requirements for HR data archiving.
- Structured data mapping and validated extraction logic.
- Smooth coordination between HR, IT, and Open Text.
- A scalable archiving framework that supports audit and reporting needs long term.
