The Role:

Market Data collects, stores and distributes financial data from over 250 exchanges globally in real time and we are moving functions and services to a cloud platform. You will help monitor the application stack and infrastructure, collaborate with Morningstar teams and 3rd party vendors to investigate issues, ensure monitoring coverage and visibility, and deploy new software. You will represent the team in infrastructure projects, including cloud migration initiatives, and contribute to the design and implementation of new tooling and automation of team processes.

Place of Work:
This position is based in our London office.

Hours of Work:
You’ll be required to work 40 hours per week. After an initial training period, you will join a shift rotation that can include late finishes and weekend work; shifts may coincide with Public/Bank Holidays.

• Work with the London and Mumbai squads to provide excellent 1st and 2nd line support for detected issues, taking corrective action or escalating as appropriate.
• Actively identify gaps in Ops monitoring and tooling, and work with the appropriate team to implement effective solutions.
• Respond to internal and external requests effectively and efficiently, ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner.
• Deploy, configure and test new software/updates to the Market Data application stack on behalf of Development teams.
• Create and/or update documentation to maintain the Ops knowledge base.
• Undertake such training and hours of work as may be reasonably required, consistent with the role’s responsibilities.

• Excellent English communication skills.
• 2+ years’ experience in a Technical Operations / SRE role.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server flavours and Wintel hardware.
• Knowledge of network stacks, protocols and technologies.
• Demonstrated competency in scripting with Power Shell and/or Python.
• Experience with Enterprise and open source monitoring tools such as Splunk or New Relic.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Git Hub, Bitbucket, Harness, Kubernetes, Terraform.
• Experience working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced IT environment with a focus on business outcomes.
• Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and cross-functional work.
• Any experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
