We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing our network and server infrastructure. This role ensures reliable connectivity, strong cybersecurity practices, and smooth day-to-day operations across the company’s systems. This position is in Boise, Idaho with flexible hours requiring some on-site presence for infrastructure work and team collaboration. This role requires responding to emergency situations, which may result in occasional after‑hours and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities- Network Infrastructure & Maintenance:
- Manage and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems
- Monitor network performance and proactively address issues
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and hardware replacements
- Maintain documentation of network configurations and procedures
- Support VPN and remote access infrastructure
- Network Security:
- Implement and maintain firewall configurations and access controls
- Monitor and respond to security alerts and vulnerabilities
- Manage endpoint security tools and antivirus systems
- Conduct regular system patching and security updates
- Support compliance efforts and security best practices
- Assist with security audits and incident response when needed
- Server Administration:
- Maintain Windows and/or Linux servers
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related services
- Oversee virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar)
- Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures
- Monitor server performance and capacity planning
- User & Technical Support:
- Provide technical support for escalated issues
- Support system access, permissions, and identity management
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure infrastructure supports business needs
- 4+ years of experience in network administration or systems administration
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall management
- Experience with Windows Server environments
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices
- Hands‑on experience with network troubleshooting tools
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a small team environment
- Experience supporting hybrid and remote work environments
- Experience with virtualization platforms
- Experience with Linux
Our business hours are from 7:00am to 5:00pm MST with flexible working arrangements. Core working hours are from 10:00am to 3:00pm MST supporting a balanced work‑life approach. Some evening or weekend work will be necessary from time to time.
