Security Engineer - Remote/Homebased (REFGJ9) Salary: £65k - £75k + Benefits and Progression

Due to continued growth and expansion, a leading organisation is now hiring a Security Engineer to join its dynamic and growing team. An exciting opportunity for a hands‑on Security Engineer who is technically strong, proactive, and confident operating in a fast‑paced SOC environment.

• Monitor and investigate security events across systems, networks, and applications
• Respond to live incidents, including analysis, escalation, and remediation
• Identify vulnerabilities and systemic weaknesses through assessments and testing
• Review and apply threat intelligence to reduce risk exposure
• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to strengthen systems
• Maintain and optimise monitoring, alerting, and reporting processes
• Participate in proactive exercises such as penetration testing and scenario simulations
• Contribute to continuous improvement of security operations and platform protections

• 2–4 years’ experience in a hands‑on cyber security role (SOC or systems environment)
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, and system hardening practices
• Familiar with attacker techniques, common TTPs, and detection/response tools
• Practical experience investigating alerts and supporting remediation efforts
• Proactive, curious, and determined with a problem‑solving mindset
• Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in IT or cyber security
