HYBRID/REMOTE WORK:
This will be an onsite position, with a possibility to be hybrid / remote 2 days a week.

DESCRIPTION:

The IT Support Specialist provides advanced technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across the organization. This role will be the face of our IT team, providing world class support to our staff while working to improve their overall technology experience  specialist will work closely with the entire HSG team to identify emerging issue trends, document processes & problems as well as educate our end users on new deployments.

POSITION

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as the first stop for end users requesting assistance with all IT related issues, providing guidance or escalations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and enterprise applications.
  • Deploy & support software through Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune)/ Company Portal.
  • Provide support for Helpdesk tickets, ensuring prompt resolution and effective communication to affected users.
  • Administer and address user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Entra  (M365) / Active Directory and other systems.
  • Support network connectivity, VPN configurations, and remote access troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with IT operations on system upgrades, patch management, and security compliance.
  • Document solutions and contribute to knowledge base articles for recurring issues.
  • Participate in an “on-call” rotation for IT emergencies on evenings & weekends.
  • Act as the business owner for all IT onboarding and off-boarding processes for employees, including hardware provisioning and software setup.
  • Build & keep an IT inventory of all assigned equipment to end users.
  • Maintain conference room technology, making improvements and ensuring operational effectiveness where necessary.
  • Participate in IT projects, including infrastructure improvements and technology rollouts.
  • Other duties as directed by the Director of IT Operations.
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience in IT support or helpdesk roles, with exposure to Tier 2/3 responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and MacOS environments, Microsoft 365, and common enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with ticketing & asset management systems. Microsoft SharePoint experience preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified:
    Modern Desktop Administrator, or ITIL Foundation.
Skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Proficiency in Windows and MacOS environments, including system administration tasks.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite and common enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL-based workflows.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
