PositionWe are seeking a hands‑on, service‑oriented IT Systems Engineer to join Getslash’s expanding technology operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering customer‑facing IT environments, supporting infotainment and connectivity solutions deployed on cruise vessels worldwide, and ensuring stable, secure, and high‑performing infrastructure operations.
This position is ideal for a Linux‑enthusiast with strong problem‑solving abilities, a passion for customer support, and the desire to work in a dynamic, international environment that occasionally includes travel.
Objectives andKey Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and monitor customer IT systems across multiple environments
- Receive, triage, and prioritize service requests via ticketing system or phone
- Serve as the technical point of contact for customers within the support organization
- Deploy, configure, maintain, and update Getslash software solutions on client vessels (both remotely and on‑site)
- Collaborate closely with the application development team to optimize product performance and ensure operational stability
- Monitor infrastructure components to proactively identify issues and performance trends
- Participate in the incident management process, including root‑cause analysis and corrective actions
- Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles
- Support cross‑functional projects to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency
- Fully remote position within the United States, with preference for candidates able to overlap with European time zones
- Hands‑on technical role requiring close collaboration with engineering, operations, and support teams based in Germany
- Regular interaction with cruise‑line clients, shipboard technical personnel, and internal development teams
- Travel to Germany for onboarding and technical alignment, plus periodic travel to cruise vessels for deployments, maintenance, and on‑site support. Travel is not an extended shipboard assignment.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in Linux system administration, IT operations, networking, or technical support
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related fields; equivalent experience considered
