As a Team Lead at Kainos, you will be responsible for leading an agile team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client and user needs. You will create a positive and creative culture, fostering a productive working environment. Your role includes empowering and supporting your team to perform, learn, and grow in line with Kainos values. You will foresee and remove blockers, manage risks and issues at the team level, and work closely with other Agile Team Leads and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective delivery under the guidance of a Delivery Manager.

You will also take on broader management responsibilities beyond the agile team as needed and contribute to management capabilities. Experience in bespoke software delivery within an agile environment for external clients is essential.

The Successful Candidate Will
  • Establish effective ways of working for planning, forecasting, and delivering against a product backlog.
  • Model collaborative behaviors, agile values, and professionalism.
  • Lead retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives, applying industry best practices.
  • Manage, coach, and develop team members, focusing on performance management.
  • Provide data, forecasts, and progress updates for planning.
  • Facilitate workshops to capture and understand requirements.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure stakeholders have access to current data and that quality standards are met.
  • Support project delivery within budget, collaborating with the Delivery Manager.
  • Be flexible, including willingness to work remotely.
  • Communicate persuasively and negotiate effectively.
  • Have strong practical experience in agile software development projects.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage, coach, and develop team members and community.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions.
  • Maintain effective delivery during remote working periods.
  • DESIRABLE
  • Good understanding of technology, digital trends, and services.
  • Experience with user research, design, and data analytics.
  • Commercial awareness, especially in multi-supplier environments and project financials.
  • Knowledge of planning and reporting methods for project delivery.
