Reporting to the Director of IT, this role manages on premises server infrastructure and Azure cloud environments with a focus on deployment, maintenance, security, and performance optimization. Responsibilities include administering virtual machines, Active Directory/Entra , and overseeing the daily work of the IT Structured Cabling Technician.
Major Responsibilities and Tasks / Duties of the Position- Develop, plan, and implement projects aligned with the organization’s strategic goals for server systems.
- Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future server infrastructure to ensure they meet organizational needs.
- Provide analysis, development, and operational support of servers, storage, virtualization, and new services.
- Develop and manage a scalable and secure Microsoft Azure Cloud solution with real‑time monitoring, backup, and maintenance.
- Develop, test, and manage disaster recovery plans and data backups to prevent loss.
- Automate routine tasks using Power Shell, Ansible, and Python.
- Manage scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables.
- Serve as Level 3 support for complex technical issues unresolved by standard IT and Process engineering staff.
- Manage user access via Active Directory, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure systems meet industry standards.
- Serve as Microsoft Teams Voice administrator, collaborating with a 3rd‑party vendor to design, implement and manage enterprise‑level voice solutions, including Teams Phone, Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and calling plans.
- Troubleshoot call quality (using CQD and SIP traces), manage user policies, and ensure network readiness for voice.
- Build strong working relationships with the IT Managed Services Team, Desktop Support, Process Engineers, internal customers/end‑users, and other partners.
- Develop and maintain documentation of functions and services.
- Create and update incident and change management activities to streamline ticket resolution.
- Implement key performance indicators for process efficiency and continuously propose enhancements.
- Enforce change control procedures and liaise with the Services team and business for scheduling maintenance outages.
- Ensure timely installation of firmware patches and updates to all server devices and software.
- Resolve escalated issues arising from operations, coordinating with other departments.
- Contribute to budget development for the functional area and services.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of IT Server related services experience; 1–2 years of Azure networking and server administration.
- 1–3 years of supervisory experience.
- Team collaboration and effective communication at all levels.
- Proficient in running projects effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Organized, methodical work style, attention to detail, and independent work capacity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; good oral and written communication.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends and product development.
- Expertise with MS Office, including Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multi‑task, manage competing priorities, and remain calm under pressure.
- Adherence to personal protective equipment requirements and safety practices.
- Deep knowledge of Azure Compute, Storage, and networking.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux.
- Experience in systems administration, virtualization (Hyper‑V/VMware), and cloud migration projects.
- ITIL experience desirable.
- Bilingual communication in English and Spanish desirable.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Ability to climb stairs, be stationary for long periods, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be available to work irregular and/or changing shifts, including holidays and weekends.
- Must be available to travel as work requirements demand.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
- Microsoft Certifications preferred, including Microsoft Azure AZ‑104 and AZ‑305.
