Demand across creative and digital delivery now exceeds current team capacity, with increasing pressure across website maintenance, development, optimisation and governance. As marketing expands, product marketing roles are introduced and acquisitions integrate into the web estate, digital workload will continue to grow.

Process improvements improve visibility and prioritisation but do not create additional platform ownership or development capacity. A single accountable owner for the web estate is required to ensure stability, performance, compliance and scalable growth.

The Web Platform Manager consolidates front-end development and operational governance into one role, providing clear ownership of the organisation’s web platforms. This ensures faster delivery, improved quality control, reduced reliance on external support and a sustainable foundation for ongoing digital expansion.

The Web Platform Manager owns the organisation’s web estate, combining front-end development capability with operational governance and platform ownership.

This role provides a single accountable owner responsible for maintaining, developing and evolving websites to ensure performance, consistency, compliance and scalability.

Working closely with designers, content writers, marketing stakeholders and external partners, the role enables reliable delivery while supporting ongoing digital growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Web Development

  • Build and maintain responsive web pages and components
  • Translate approved designs into production-ready implementations
  • Develop reusable front-end components and templates
  • Support website enhancements and feature development
  • Web Operations & Governance

  • Maintain operational oversight of all websites
  • Ensure platform accuracy, consistency and quality
  • Manage updates, releases and ongoing maintenance
  • Oversee privacy, cookie and legal compliance implementation
  • Conduct regular QA reviews across web properties
  • Performance & Optimisation

  • Support on-page SEO implementation
  • Optimise performance, responsiveness and accessibility
  • Monitor site health and user experience issues
  • Implement redirects, migrations and structural updates
  • Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with Creative Operations Manager for prioritisation
  • Collaborate with designers and content teams on delivery
  • Manage external web suppliers and technical contacts
  • Support acquisitions, integrations and platform expansion

    Experience:

    Essential

  • Commercial front-end development experience
  • Strong HTML, CSS and modern web implementation skills
  • Experience working with CMS platforms
  • Understanding of website governance and QA processes
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Understanding of SEO fundamentals
  • Accessibility best practice knowledge
  • Experience working with design systems
  • Experience with in B2B or SaaS environments
