We are currently seeking a Director of Engineering for a leading AI software company in Spain, at the forefront of applying high-performance computing AI solutions to real-world problems.

This company is very well funded, has several global offices and was named as one of the most Innovative AI Startups in 2025.

In this pivotal position, you will spearhead product engineering initiatives, driving the seamless integration of cutting-edge AI, especially LLMs, with high-performance computing technologies. Your role will involve defining strategic technical direction and cultivating high-performing, cross-functional teams to deliver impactful product outcomes.

We are seeking an accomplished leader with profound, hands-on expertise in modern AI systems, particularly LLMs, RAG, and agentic architectures. This role demands extensive leadership experience in managing substantial engineering and data/ML teams, alongside a robust background in platform and architecture.

| WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Direct product engineering efforts, focusing on the integration of advanced AI (LLMs, RAG, agentic architectures) with high-performance computing technologies.

* Shape and guide the technical vision and strategic roadmap for product evolution, ensuring coherence with overarching business objectives.

* Cultivate, guide, and expand elite engineering and data/ML teams, nurturing an environment of innovation and teamwork.

* Manage the comprehensive ML/LLM model journey, encompassing data infrastructure, model training, assessment, and secure deployment strategies.

* Work in close partnership with Product Management and Business Development to transform AI capabilities into tangible product achievements.

* Develop and uphold stringent platform and architectural benchmarks for scalable, dependable, and cloud-native infrastructure.

* Institute AI governance and risk protocols, guaranteeing ethical AI implementation, regulatory adherence, and data security.

| WHOM WE ARE LOOKING FOR

* Profound, practical expertise in contemporary AI systems (LLMs, RAG, agentic architectures) and proficiency across the entire ML/LLM model lifecycle.

* Significant leadership track record in overseeing large engineering and data/ML teams, with a demonstrated capacity to define technical strategy and forge exceptional organizational structures.

* Solid foundation in platform and architecture design, complemented by specialized knowledge in AI governance, risk management, and compliance.

* Demonstrated aptitude for collaborating with Product and Business stakeholders to convert AI functionalities into commercial successes, supported by excellent English communication skills.

| REMOTE WORK POLICY

You can work in this role hybrid remote (2 days remote) from the headquarters in the north of Spain. Flexible working hours are a given. Should you move or travel for this role, your relocation or travel costs will naturally be covered.
