About the RoleWe are seeking a Fleet Information Technician to join our Operations team in Aberdeen.
This is an entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career in data management and maritime operations within a global organisation. In this role, you will process and quality‑control vessel data using established procedures and proprietary systems. The data you manage supports Storm Geo’s products and services, helping vessels operate safely and efficiently from port A to port
B.
You will be part of an international operations team spanning Europe, Asia, and North America, providing 24/7 service coverage. The position follows a shift schedule of four shifts per week, typically between 06:00–16:30 local time, with a structured weekend rotation.
📍 The role is based in Aberdeen and operates under a hybrid work model, combining office work (minimum two days per week) and home working.
Main Responsibilities- Accurately enter and process alphabetic and numeric vessel data using established procedures and proprietary systems
- Perform quality control by reviewing and correcting reported data
- Gain a full understanding of all data and voyage-based alerts including techniques and strategies for solving them. Create messages to confirm suspicious data.
- Develop a basic knowledge of geography to interpret and input intended and recommended voyage routes using geographical waypoints
- Apply company procedures, operational guidelines, and system knowledge in daily workflow
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Proactive problem solver with a strong work ethic
- Able to manage steady workflows and adapt to changing priorities
- Organized and capable of working efficiently to meet deadlines
- Strong written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
