Platform Engineer; m​/f​/x

As a Platform Engineer (m/f/x), you are part of our Infrastructure & Operations (IO) department. We see ourselves as the technical backbone of Nitrado. Our shared purpose is to provide a highly available and scalable infrastructure that enables a seamless experience for millions of players worldwide.

Within IO, you will join our Platform Team, which is responsible for our internal hosting platforms for containers and virtual machines. In your role, you will ensure the stability and security of our platform services and, through consistent automation (IaC), ensure that our on‑prem stack remains as flexible and scalable as a cloud environment.

Your daily toolkit consists of Kubernetes (Rancher), Ceph, Prometheus/Victoria Metrics, Hashi Corp Vault, and a KVM-based VM platform. We value technical depth and genuine troubleshooting expertise at the Linux level.

• You are responsible for the operation of our on‑prem Kubernetes clusters via Rancher and ensure their stability, security, and continuous updates.
• You optimize our metrics infrastructure (e.g.,
  Prometheus / Victoria Metrics
  ) through targeted tuning, alerting, and retention management.
• You are the owner of central services such as Grafana
  , Harbor
  , and Hashi Corp Vault and ensure their high availability.
• You manage our storage solutions (
  Ceph and/or Linstor
  ) and confidently master capacity planning, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• You further develop our KVM‑based VM platform
  , automate provisioning, and guarantee high‑performance resource distribution.
• You maintain our logging environment (e.g.,
  Open Search
  ) from the ingestion process to index management and data retention.
• When there is a hitch anywhere, you get to the bottom of the problem and analyze the cause methodically – whether at the Linux/VM, network, storage, or application level.
• You eliminate manual effort through consistent automation and standardization (e.g., via runbooks and IaC).
• You work closely with the dev teams, help with platform topics, and ensure that deployments and operations function well.

• Several years of experience in infrastructure or platform operations (e.g., as a Dev Ops / Platform Engineer
  ).
• In‑depth knowledge of administration and troubleshooting in productive Linux environments
  .
• Proficient with Kubernetes
  , ideally on‑prem.
• Practical experience with monitoring/metrics (Prometheus and/or Victoria Metrics).
• Experience with container registries (e.g., Harbor) and common container/Helm workflows.
• Experience with Vault (or a comparable secrets solution) – policies/auth/secret lifecycle are not foreign concepts to you.
• Knowledge of Ceph and/or Linstor or similar distributed storage solutions.
• You think and work in a structured manner, use ticketing systems like Jira and document consistently, stay calm during incidents, and communicate clearly with the team.
