Tech Connect is seeking an experienced Technology Consultant to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI.

As a Technology Consultant
, this person is expected to effectively support the technology of a wide variety of Tech Connect customers. The primary focus of this position is to design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot various technology solutions while implementing security best-practices.

The position is full-time, with benefits, with a starting salary range of $55,000 to $80,000 based on experience and certifications, and is eligible for profit-sharing.

• Support the technology infrastructure of existing clients and onboard new clients.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve client issues across a variety of environments, platforms, and technologies.
• Take "ownership" of assigned client issues & projects and complete them in a timely manner.
• Proactively identify and solve situations before they become major problems.
• Ensure all designs, actions, and recommendations follow security best-practices.
• Create and maintain accurate documentation.
• Ensure all client hardware & software licensing is legal and properly registered.
• Communicate regularly with the team using Emails, Encrypted Messages, Communication platforms, and Video Meetings.
• Create, track, and prioritize client tasks in the Ticketing System.
• Discover, scope, design, and quote technology solutions to meet client needs.
• Exhibit a "measure twice, cut once" and also a "do it right the first time" mentality.
• Participate in occasional scheduled/emergency off-hours projects and upgrades.
• Travel onsite to client locations when needed.
• Maintain a calm & composed demeanor, especially when under pressure.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people.
• Conform to relevant legislation and Tech Connect policies & procedures.
• Study and obtain technology certifications (training will be provided).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 2+ years working in the IT industry.
• Experience with computer deployment, troubleshooting, hardware, OS install, software/app issues, backups, and security.
• Experience with troubleshooting printers.
• Experience with troubleshooting Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
• Experience with Google Workspace, Google Drive, and Google Mail.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Accounts.
• Basic knowledge of networking. Able to build/crimp a network cable.
• Basic knowledge of Servers, Virtualization, and Data Backup solutions.
• Exhibit good security awareness and familiarity with security best-practices.
• Learn & implement new technologies.
• Think quickly and develop solutions on-the-fly.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

• 4+ years working in the IT industry.
• 2+ years of IT Consulting experience.
• Advanced experience of large-scale computer management, troubleshooting, backups, and security.
• Experience with Firewalls, Routers, Wireless, Switches, VLANs, VoIP, and network infrastructure.
• Experience deploying Servers, Virtualization, and Data Backup solutions.
• Experience developing scripts (Power Shell) and GPOs to automate/standardize configuration changes.
• Certifications (or equivalent experience) with Fortinet, Cisco/Meraki, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoom.
• Capable of creating highly-scalable frameworks and designs.
• Comfortable with Public Speaking and making presentations to groups.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs unassisted, 50+ lbs assisted).
• Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Have reliable high-speed Internet connection for remote work.
• Use computers and telephones for extended periods of time.
• Have a reliable form of transportation and be able to travel as needed.
• Located in (or willing to relocate to) the West Michigan area.
• Be a US Citizen and/or eligible to work in the United States.
