This is a remote position.

Summary About Us:
Cyber Teck Academy is a company offering after-school and Summer camp services with a focus on computer science and game design for students grades 1st-7th. We are doing business with hundreds of schools in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia, At the moment we are looking to hire Minecraft Mod and Map updater to work on this project and with the right developer we intend to get back to them for any upcoming projects after this one.

Minecraft Mod and Map Updater
Project Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Minecraft mod and map developer to
complete an update to our custom activity mod and associated activity maps from
Minecraft Java Edition 1.7.10 to the latest version. The mod is based on the original
Computer Craft mod but must be adapted to include our custom APIs and programs.
This project requires a deep understanding of Minecraft modding, experience with
Java and Lua, and knowledge of creating or modifying mods for Minecraft Java
Edition.
Responsibilities:
1-Update the existing Computer Craft-based mod to be compatible with the latest
version of Minecraft Java Edition.
2-Ensure all custom APIs and programs are seamlessly integrated into the updated
mod.
3-Update the associated activity maps to work with the new version of the mod and
the latest Minecraft Java Edition.
4-Test the updated mod and maps for functionality, compatibility, and performance.
5-Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the update process.

Qualifications:

1-Proven experience in developing or updating Minecraft mods and maps.
2-Strong proficiency in Java and Lua programming languages.
3-Knowledge of Minecraft modding tools and frameworks.
4-Familiarity with the Minecraft modding community and best practices.
5-Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6-Ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively.
The project is split into evaluation and 2 milestones as mentioned below:
0 - Evaluation:

● Examine existing work from previous developer

● Determine best way to proceed from projects current state
○ What is good as is
○ What may need revision
○ What may need to be rebuilt

● Advise on any potential issues you may foresee

● Must be completed within 1 week
1
- First Milestone:

● Restore Core Functionality of mod elements required for our class
○ All Custom computercraft elements used in class fully functional
○ In game error message reporting working correctly
○ Update other mod elements as necessary to correctly interface with
updated computercraft elements
○ Game must be able to work while offline
○ Must be able to complete the full curriculum without encountering
major issues.
○ Fix any additional functionality problems identified during testing

● Must commit to regular weekly meetings during the process to report on work
accomplished and any issues encountered.

● Milestone must be completed by second week of April 2026 at the latest, but
preferably by end of March 2026
2 - Second Milestone:

● Restore remaining complete functionality of all mod elements. Including but
not limited to:
○ Functionality of supplemental code and mod elements not used in
primary curriculum
○ Functionality of secondary quality of life mods included in the
modpack

● Fix any problems identified during initial deployment (summer 2026)

● Optimise mod elements
○ Ensure stability
○ Minimize unnecessary resource usage

● Must commit to regular weekly meetings during any active work to report on
work accomplished and any issues encountered.

● Milestone must be completed by August 2026
Potential future work may be periodically available to continue updating and
enhancing this project if we have a good experience with you.
Budget is just a placeholder!
Priority will be given to freelancers with the right experience and have a competitive
budget.
