The Role at a GlanceWhat you'll be doing
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
- Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Consults/Analyze on more complex assignments and/or projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Configures and tests more complex firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus, data leakage systems, threat detection, and software deployment tools.
- Configures security tools in accordance to device owner’s policies and specifications.
- Builds more complex tools, techniques, and scripts to automate and speed up tasks.
- Assesses new and changing security needs and selects the right tools for those needs.
- Identifies systems misconfigurations and serves as a resource to others to correct the configurations.
- Maintains availability of security technologies, including but not limited to IDS/IPS, DLP, syslog, vulnerability scanners.
- Collaborates with Information Technology teams to configure and ensure appropriate data flows and integration with various systems.
- Partners with project teams ensuring control techniques are incorporated into the overall security model regarding operating systems, applications, database management and network management.
- Researches, evaluates, and recommends new or improved information security software and tools.
