IT Inventory Control Specialist Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 10 hours of post-secondary coursework, preferably in business, technology or a related field required.
• Any of the following nationally recognized certifications may be used in lieu of a degree at the discretion of the Head of Technology: A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, or similar certification.
• One year of related experience can substitute for the required 10 hours at the discretion of the Head of Technology.
• One year of experience working with Information Technology hardware and software inventory and tracking.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications are at the discretion of the Head of Technology.

• Associate’s degree in business, technology, computer science, or a similar discipline.
• Experience working with and training adults.

Effectively use resources to assist the Head of Technology, the Head of Technology Administrative Assistant, the IT Operations Manager, the IT Systems Manager, Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, and Digital Media Engineers in the tracking and dispersal of the District’s Information Technology related hardware, software, and media equipment (including security camera equipment, audio, video, and theater lighting equipment).

• Track Technology Work Orders and Inventory using a database system.
• Research parts, equipment, hardware, and other technology needs and communicate requirements to the IT Operations Manager.
• Complete work assignments and ensure all work is completed correctly and efficiently.
• Be responsible for the shipping, receiving, inventory, and distribution of equipment and materials, including warranty repair services.
• Communicate with the Head of Technology Assistant daily regarding received equipment for invoice payments.
• Issue stock from the warehouse as notified by requisitions filled out by IT personnel.
• Establish stocking and storage procedures; store materials and supplies according to IT Operations Manager instruction.
• Conduct inventory as directed by the IT Operations Manager or the Head of Technology.
• Create, develop, and maintain department hardware warranty information on spreadsheets or within the inventory tracking system.
• Maintain the district warranty/repair process.
• Check items received against packing slips, unpack boxes of supplies and materials as needed, store items on shelves (when appropriate), and inform the IT Operations Manager of any problems with incoming orders or missing inventory.
• Instruct personnel as needed in the use of the IT department’s policies and procedures when it comes to inventory requisitions.
• Travel to various sites when needed to provide assistance as directed by the IT Operations Manager or the Head of Technology.
• Cross‑train in various technology areas.
• Require some after‑hours and weekend work depending on the situation.
• May require work‑from‑home during non‑traditional scenarios.
• Provide highest levels of customer support and interaction to deliver first‑class service and support for all technology needs.
• Other functions as directed by the IT Operations Manager, the Head of Technology, or the Superintendent.
